Two reasons. Some of the oldest tattoos ever discovered are on Egyptian mummies, and that ink has lasted 5,000 years. And every jar contains natron, the mineral salt ancient Egyptians used to preserve their pharaohs. We think your ink deserves that kind of respect.
Can I use Mummy Butter on a fresh tattoo?
Wait until your tattoo has fully healed, usually once peeling is complete (around 2–4 weeks). Follow your artist's aftercare instructions during healing, then make Mummy Butter part of your routine to keep your ink looking its best.
Will it keep my tattoos from fading?
Sun exposure and dry skin are two of the biggest reasons tattoos lose their punch. Well-moisturized skin reflects light more evenly, so ink looks sharper and more vibrant. Mummy Butter handles the moisture; pair it with a broad-spectrum sunscreen whenever your ink sees the sun.
Will it work on old tattoos?
Yes. Older tattoos often look dull because the skin over them is dry. Nightly moisture helps the ink look brighter. It can't undo fading from years of sun damage or ink that has spread under the skin, but well-moisturized skin always shows ink at its best.
What makes it different from regular lotion?
Most lotions are made for general hydration. Mummy Butter is a rich cream formulated specifically for tattooed skin, built around helichrysum, aloe, and resveratrol.
Is Mummy Butter all-natural?
It's made mostly from plant oils, botanical extracts, and more than 20 essential oils. Like any water-based cream, it also contains a small amount of preservative (phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, and sorbic acid) to keep it free of bacteria and mold, plus emulsifiers that hold the cream together. How long does one jar last?
Each 2 oz (60 ml) jar holds about 30 daily uses, roughly one month of nightly use.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
