About Mummy Butter
Mummy Butter™ Tattoo Cream is a botanical cream made for healed tattoos. It keeps tattooed skin moisturized so colors look bold and lines look crisp. It doubles as a cooling-then-warming massage cream for tired muscles.
Our story
Mummy Butter started as a rich, nutrient-packed skin cream developed by chemist Clint Winters. Then people who used it started noticing something: their tattoos looked better.
So Clint brought it to three special effects makeup artists, Charles Wills, Amy Mills, and Chris Mills. Each has more than 20 years in the industry, applying prosthetics, adhesives, and makeup day after day and dealing with the dry, stressed skin that comes with it. They put the cream to the test in the field, and together the four of them turned it into Mummy Butter.
We're based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Why "Mummy"
Some of the oldest tattoos ever found are on Egyptian mummies, and that ink has lasted about 5,000 years. Every jar contains natron, the mineral salt ancient Egyptians used in mummification, as a tribute to that history.
